Thanks Erica. We ended up going to the Chinatown Peking Duck. It was my birthday and a friend picked up the check but the bill was about $28 per person. I have fond memories of Shun Lee, but that was when I operated with an "expence account". The duck was very good downtown and the rest of the food only so-so. coneal

Here is their menu:
http://shunleepalace.lanteck.net/pdf/...I was taken here for dinner about two years ago and thought the Peking duck was very good. Not on a level of Beijing, but since this is New York.....you could do a lot worse.

I haven't had Beijing duck in New York in many years, preferring the memory of great Beijing ka ya I had when I was last in Beijing in 2004. That said, in general, people have opined on these boards that the best Beijing duck in Manhattan is at a place that's actually called Peking Duck House, in Chinatown. And I don't think many hounds have high opinions of Shun Lee. I know I haven't been to any of their locations in years and was very underwhelmed the last x-number of times I was taken to either Shun Lee Palace or their location on 65th St. I have never been to Dynasty.
