What's new in Boston?

I've previously enjoyed Asana, L'Espalier, Craigie's on Main, and Rendezvous. I'm thinking of trying Menton and O Ya but would appreciate any other recs for a short trip around the 4th of July. Thanks!

Menton and O Ya are both excellent, and are the two most expensive restaurants in the city (at least by my credit card statement they are!). Island Creek Oyster Bar in Kenmore Sq is the new board favorite, and deservedly so. Plus you can have a great meal there for much less than either O Ya or Menton.

Island Creek's menu looks great. Thanks for the suggestion!

I just went to Island Creek last night for my mom's birthday. It was amazing....the Island Creek Oysters were so fresh. And the Halibut with gnocchi was out of this world.

Yes! I went on Wednesday and that halibut was amazing. We reserved seats at the bar and had oysters, little necks, shrimp and the fluke crudo. Everything was perfect. And the cocktails were amazing as well. Such a treat!
