Need a small birthday bar rec

Hi all,

I need a birthday bar rec. Here's the details:

location: looking to keep it in SoHo/NoHo/Nolita/Bowery/Union Sq-ish area

situation: probably max out at 8-10 people. Smaller, casual get-together as opposed to big pronounced birthday event.

vibe: I'd ideally like a low-key, spot...this would be a saturday night so I know nothing worth going to will be "dead" but it would be great if the place is ok with squaring off a table for a smaller group. Would love a solid cocktail list and a decent beer list (not all going to be a 100% $15 cocktail crowd).

I would say Ward III would be perfect, but just not in the right part of town.

How about Temple Bar? There is a big space in back with tables, they have a decent beer list, fantastic cocktails and every time I'm there it's comfortably livley but never packed. Another idea might be Pravda right near by but I'm not sure how crowded it gets on Saturday night. I tend to go there more for after work drinks.

Maybe the Randolph? Happy hour 12-8pm daily. Good cocktails.
