Iron Chef (Competition Dining) comes to NC
Battle of local restaurants with a special ingredient.
Having worked in the kitchen at Chapel Hill Country Club many years ago I was very suprised to see them listed in the competition. I know a lot can change over 20 years but I guess I just assumed they were still contracting their food service to Marriott who served up average hotel food at best.
There may be some surprises on this competition. I always feel that a number of local chefs are not being as creative or innovative as they can be in order to be more commercial. One local chef even told me that while he would like to push the envelope more he knows that his customers may not be happy with the changes.
