I love the outdoor covered patio at Fatfish in Bay Shore, beautiful, casual beachy location with good mediterranean food. I've been there for lunch many times. Not sure of the number it holds. http://fatfish.info/about/

Haven't been to any, so can't help there. May be worth looking into places like Point Lookout, Long Beach, Island Park? If it's not too much of a hike, I really like Fatfish a lot.

I was thinking the same thing..............

Fisherman's Catch in Point Lookout is right on,and has a great view of the marshland and bay. Paddy McGee's in Island Park has a view of the canal and boats passing by. Both can handle that big a crowd. Food is decent at best. In Long Beach the Allegria Hotel has restaurant with a waterview called the Atlantica. I don't know anyone that has eaten there, maybe another 'hound has more on that. Fellow hound emarcus gave their breakfast a good review a while back.

I could not agree more,The Feed Me Blog is a must read,in large measure because of her work,for anyone living or working on the Island with an interest in food. I'm sure she will chime in on these places or anything else worthwhile.

Thanks for all the kind words. On Atlantica, I think breakfast may be the best meal there, but view is spectacular. What about Maliblue? It's at the Malibu Club in Lido Beach but open to the public and seems to be big enough for a big party. Don't know if the Fishery, on the water in East Rockaway, could handle the crowd but worth a try. If Suffolk is an option, second the vote for FatFish.
