After-dinner drinks in the West Village?
We are taking my in-laws out to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday on Friday. Dinner is in the Abingdon Square area at 7, but the in-laws would like to get drinks afterwards. There will be 6 of us -- kids and kids-in-law in our mid-30s, and my parents-in-law who are in their early 70s. My in-laws are quiet people, very conservative and religious, and are intimidated by fancy and/or trendy places. So I'm stumped, because none of my standbys in the area are places that I think they'd like.
Any suggestions of where we can get a nightcap in the area after dinner?

maybe Zampa? It is never crowded - to the point I wonder how much longer they'll last - so in this case it might fit the bill. Italian, fairly good wine list, and I think they have a full bar. I imagine you wouldn't have a problem getting a table just for drinks. another option might be the bar area at Lyon - not sure how crowded it would be though.
