Avalon is Ok, avoid the wine by the glass, its probably old. Personally I enjoy the food at Roys Italian Dinners. Its old fashioned, but tasty. The cheesesteak place in Arcata is good for lunch. For fast food, check out the fresh freeze for juicy burgers, good old fashioned french fries and shakes. Carmelas Mexican is also a treasure. Informal sitdown home cooking.
