I need a food processor/chopper from Amazon
My brother gave me a $100 Amazon gift certificate for my birthday, and I want to buy a food processor. I haven't had a full-sized food processor since I was married, but I've gone through three mini choppers in six years. I don't need to make cakes etc in the food processor, but I really want to make hummus and grind almonds, breadcrumbs etc. that you can't effectively do by hand.
I seem to have the following options and I don't know which is the most cost-effective.
Buying a $30 cheapie and only expecting to get a few years use out of it.
Buying a 3-cup KitchenAid or Cuisinart food chopper instead (they're about $50).
Buying a reconditioned 7-cup KitchenAid for $70.
Or blowing the lot on a smallish Cuisinart.

Amazon has a damaged box / open box section called "Warehouse Deals". The items there carry a full warranty. Standard shipping is free for purchases of $25 or more. On their main page click on TODAY's DEALS at the top of the page. Then click on the WAREHOUSE DEALS link about 1/4 down the page on the menu bar.
When you are in the WAREHOUSE DEALS section, click on the KITCHEN link on the left and then search for food processors. You will find some good discounts there. Some up to 1/2 off.
It changes from day to day based on their inventory of returns and open/damaged boxes. Here's a direct link to Amazon WAREHOUSE DEALS:
