Uptown Recommendations

I will be coming the New York this summer, and were looking at restaurants in uptown. We thought about Marea, as it is just a block away, but would like thoughts on that and any other recommendations in Upper West/Upper East Side/ Central Park South in the same price range. Note: We already have reservations at BG-Bergdorf Goodman, Serafina Pizza, The Boathouse, Virgil's, Eleven Madison Park, and Nougatine.

Quite a mixed bag of a list! I would add Cafe Boulud and subtract Serafina and Virgil's. Search pizza and barbeque on this board -- many, many suggestions and you can do much better.

You aint kidding. Why BG-Bergdorf Goodman, Serafina Pizza, and Virgil's? All are crappy.

I have BG-Bergdorf Goodman because it is convenient while shopping and have been there and liked it. I chose Serefina Pizza because our past experiences have been good, and Virgil's is a good hole-in-the-wall.

I did think about Café Boulud and almost made reservations but was kind of bored from the menu. I would like others thoughts on that as well.

The food at Cafe Boulud is rather safe and unadventurous, which is appealing to some but I don't think you would find it too interesting. The atmosphere is also rather stodgy.

Boulud Sud is wonderful though.
