Craving a lobster roll uptown to mark the beginning of being stuck in the city for the summer!

I'd settle for a diner? Has anybody spied a lobster roll sign in a window somewhere uptown?

Luke's is the best, and you can request no seasoning just mayo, or no mayo, or whatever you like. The ones at the Lobster Place in Chelsea Market are generous, but they put all sorts of rubbish in them. Why do people mess with simple perfection:

Not "uptown" but Grand Central Oyster bar makes a nice lobster roll!

That's good to know! Had a yummy one at the Plaza food hall but the old fashioned icebox cake at Billie's Bakery brought make so many memories of my Mom's same treat that I am hoofing it back to the Plaza to have icebox cake for lunch!

Being "stuck" in the city for the summer is a great thing!!! So much less crowds to deal with and much easier to try all the great restaurants in town. People in other parts of the world would die to be in you situation!!

Where uptown? Pretty broad area.

Near Hunter College. One year I saw a diner on 2nd Ave. advertising lobster rolls on Memorial Day - I guess they were trying to grab everyone who hasn't left town! But now the subway construction has wiped out the place anyway!

I think Luke's Lobster is about as far uptown as you'll find one. There are locations on 81st St. on both the east and west side (Amsterdam or 2nd Ave)

Looks like they are definitely open today because they posted that military vets get 10% off at all locations.

Perfect - and even more perfect, since I'm going to catch a movie at the PARIS, is that they just opened one across the street in the Plaza Food Hall! Now I got my lobster practically with my popcorn!
