Great frozen yogurt @ 3Bis, Borough Market, London

3Bis is the newish gelato place that opened next to Neal's Yard at Borough Market. Gelati are merely ok - softer and lighter than most, perhaps a slight resemblance texturally to Dri Dri. Flavours are ok, you can taste the stuff, but it's not with the same intensity as say Gelatieria or Scoop.

BUT - the frozen yogurt is one of the best I've had in London. Creamy, stiff, full bodied. Slightly sweet and superbly tangy, not to the bitter puckering end, but plenty of sour to balance the sweet and more. Got mine with a fruit salad (coconut chunks are good) and topped with a few toasted almonds with a crumbly coat. They appear to use Neal's Yard yogurt, or at least that's what the few containers in the display case would have one think.

Anyone been to the branch in Rimini with a comparison?

Interestingly I went to 3Bis Saturday (admittedly after 5 hours of yoga) and absolutely loved it.

For context, I've had my mother in law in town and been to see a couple of shows over the last week. During each I've managed to sneak out at intermission and enjoy a couple of scoops from Gelatorino, which I love but not as much as I love Dri Dri. So I had another quality gelataria in my mind which devouring my three scoop cone from 3Bis.

I found 3Bis tastier than Gelatorino and pretty close to Dri Dri.

I've only been there was as I said above, had the mascapone and fig which was transcendent, the panna cotta which was way too sweet for me and the hazelnut which was again incredible.

I'll give it another go and update...

Missed this earlier....Have you had a chance to try the hazelnut from Gelatiera or Scoop? Superb hazelnuts from Piedmonte.

Thing with lots of handmade gelati is that there's always batch to batch variation, plus this place is still somewhat newish and might still be in flux. Will certainly go back to try again soon.

I was not as blown away on my second visit. still very good. not amazing. mascapone and fig a little too sweet.

Love hazelnut at gelatiera and at dri dri. Both source incredible hazelnuts. haven't tried from scoop

Going to 3Bis saturday to give it another go. Will update then.

Great - love the updates. To restore balance to the universe, I'll have to swing by Gelupo. :)
