Pinkberry now open in SF Union Square

I saw the construction sign while on the 38 bus that Pinkberry is coming soon! On Geary Blvd between Powell & O'Farrell. Please let me know if you know when it's opening.

This would have been awesome about four years ago. But better late than never.

There's no hfcs, but real sugar isn't than much better. Also, despite not being terribly sweet, most flavors still have ~20g sugar per 4 oz serving, which is similar to most ice cream.

O'Farrell runs east/west like Geary...Powell runs North South...so it might be Geary between Stockton and Powell, or between Powell and Mason....

Correction: O'Farrell near Powell. Went back in the daytime sign says opening June 2012.

you must be thinking red mango, tuttimelon, or yogurtland. can't think of a single pinkberry that has closed.

yep. they all look alike...(and almost) taste alike..

Yup. With the million Pinkberry clones (there are three walking distance from my house) I can't see getting excited about a "real" one. It's in a tourist area, so presumably -- like all the other chains in that area -- it's there to cater to people who are followers of the Pinkberry brand (either because they have it at home, or because they've heard the hype and want to try it).

"real" no longer concerns me. doubt many of them are healthy. almost all of them has high frutose corn syrup in their product. allmost all major yogurt sellers use yocream as their manufacturer.

yocream's own product/specs uses high frutose corn syrup.

Um. I don't know if I'm not seeing it, but it appears none of Pinkberry's yogurts contain high fructose corn syrup:

It's rather healthy for a frozen yogurt, and I've always liked Pinkberry's product, tart-er and a little icier than the competition. Also, they're transparent with their nutrition information which I respect.

pinkberry, blush, and yoppi are the few yogurt chains that don't use high fructose corn syrup. the organic few also. these 3 are my favs

i assume yogurtland, tutti frutti, honeyberry, menchi's, golden spoon?, yogofina, most independents, all use high fructose corn syrup.

Pinkberry is actually a clone of Red Mango, which started the trend in Korea in 2002.

red mango's yogurt is made by yocream these days.
note pinkberry has not cloned red mango's failures. all red mango's in north ca. has closed. a new red mango is opening in emeryville in july. . seems they have a better formulae. it resembles pinkberry's formula a lot.
