High Tea in SF and Peninsula?

My mother-in-law loves English afternoon tea with all its fixin'. She's coming for a visit and I'd love to give her a treat. It's too bad that the Ritz Carlton in Half Moon Bay stopped their service. Any recommendations of other places to take her?

    Just to be accurate:
There's a huge difference between "high tea" (a working class meal served at the end of the day with heavy meats) vs. "afternoon tea" (or "low tea") which is served mid-afternoon and consists of dainty figner sandwiches, like cucumbers etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. Will definitely take a look at the previous/related discussions.

I'm a fan of the über-expensive tea held in Neiman Marcus under the Rotunda; very elegant! Less elegant but good tasting is Lovejoy's.

Unfortunately, Crown & Crumpet in San Francisco (my wife's favorite) is closing on May 27 and reopening later in the year in a new location. The Ritz Carlton in SF is certainly worth a look. Also, check out the links in the "Related Discussions" section up & to the right. There are links to recent threads for high tea in both SF and the Peninsula.
