  1. Did you end up not finding a source back in 2009? http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/587501

I find them at Thai markets. They're really cheap, too, for a big bag....and they're shelled. The ones at the Farmers Market (on Fairfax) have the shells on them.

    2. I go to the bulk section of the nearest Sprouts Market. They always have them in stock.

      1. Chinese markets sometimes have them.

        1. 99 ranch market

          1. For clarification, I'm looking for raw peanuts in the shell for boiling Southern-style.

Those are the kind you'll find at Chinese markets -- look in the produce section.

            2. Tak Shing Hong has them.

              1. Just bought some today at Shun Fat Supermarket on Atlantic and Garvey in Monterey Park. I paid $1.39 a pound for them in the shell. 99 Ranch Markets have them also @$1.99 a pound. I pressure cook them with star anise and salt for 3 hours which turns out perfect.

                1. I make boiled peanuts all the time and actually find raw peanuts (in shell) at Ralph's in the produce section. They're usually located on the shelves below the produce.
