Early Lobster Molting in Maine - NPR Story

Well we had an early soft shell crab season along the East Coast, so I guess this odd development wasn't that surprising. Personally, I don't mind as our local fishmonger sells the softies at a more than reasonable price. As of now, however, I don't know if the phenomenon has occured in NJ.

I heard the article today as well. Seems a bumper crop for the lobster roll industry but I have to wonder what the long term ripple will be for lobsters and anything else being affected by the warmer waters...

I found it very interesting. Lobster is out favorite food. It is fascinating that they pull the new claws, which are soft, thru the appendages to the body to release the new claws.
We got fresh live Maine lobsters at our local Acme yesterday. They typically have them on the summer holidays, and we're most grateful, and for the reasonable prices.
