The rumors are true. I resigned 3 weeks ago form TOCA by tom brodi and my last day is May 26th. Thank you to everyone for your support.

    Great news!! Now, I hope management can hire a really great chef and re-vamp TOCA into a restaurant with food quality that commensurate with the 'Ritz Carlton' standard. Like the San Fran, Chicago, or the Hong Kong ones!!

      No kidding. Toca was mediocre at best.

        If they would not hire some "really great chef" when they were opening what makes you think anything will change now? Openings are when they have the cash to splurge not when they get 3 weeks notice when someone leaves...

          Exactly right. The Ritz will erase his name and slowly make changes to the menu but will not spend a dime on upgrades for at least 5 years.
          A few suggestions to the Ritz:
          Stop deep-frying the lobster - this isn't Britain. Lobster has a delicate flavor so please poach it or steam it. If you insist on frying then ask a Japanese chef to teach you how to do proper tempura.
          The most exciting feature in the restaurant is the cheese cellar and yet you don't give us choices. Buy a cheese cart and offer it at the table like you do at your French Restaurants in other cities. Toronto people love cheese! Stop teasing them.
