Sunday Night Business Dinner in Vienna

Hello everyone,

I am trying to organise a dinner for clients in Vienna for a Sunday night. A combination of non-existent German on my part (I'm organising from the UK) and Viennese restaurants closing on Sunday has left me a little stuck. So suggestions are welcome. Places with an email address particularly so.

I have contacted several places based upon recommendations from Chowhound but with no luck:

Restaurant Eckel
Schnattl
Gasthaus Stern
Gmoakeller
Gasthaus Sperl

Many thanks.

I suggest either Plachutta on Wollzeile or Österreicher im MAK !

      Sturmi,

Many thanks. I will call around the Plachutta restaurants and I have just emailed Österreicher im MAK.

      Sunday evening is tough.

Plachutta on Wollzeile and Österreicher im MAK cometo my mind, and of course most of the Kaffeehäuser will be open...

My apologies for vague instructions above. Any food is welcome. Up to about 60 Euros per head with wine and service.

Sunday can be tough, but I've always had great meals at a Spanish resto called Bodega Marques (http://www.bodegamarques.at/) in Judenplatz. I wasn't sure what area of town you were looking for but this is generally central and is of a high enough caliber for a business dinner IMO. The outdoor seating is also quite nice.

            Vanderb,

That looks great. I was thinking more traditional Viennese but this place fits what we want in a different way. We are always looking to take people places that are a little more unusual than the normal business dinners.

            Thank you.

I thought you might be tending to Viennese given the original list of restos. I live in the Czech Republic which has very little "ethnic" food aside from Italian, when we visit Vienna we generally hit places that are not serving regional food, this place has satisfied that need on more than one occassion.

For Viennese we usually go to Phoenixhof in the 7th district but that is a much more casual, neighbourhood "joint" and wouldn't fit the business dinner criteria.

I like the original suggestion of Bodega Marques and have sent them a message to see if they have an availability. Many thanks.
