Road trip eats in San Diego

My brother and I are going to be on a road trip in a couple of weeks moving him home to Minnesota. We are going to be in San Diego for a one night to catch a Padres game before we head out and are looking for a casual place to grab some lunch and dinner. We are staying down by the ballpark, so something around there would be nice, and we are mainly looking for something on the cheaper side and where we can get a beer. Any food is fine, we are definitely not picky eaters, and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Basic would fit the bill although I personally like their sister restaurant, Urbn better.

I'd go to Neighborhood. One of the better beer selections in the area, and pretty good food. Not super-cheap (~$10 burgers, for example), but definitely not expensive for the area.

If you are looking for decent cheap eats around the ballpark, consider happy hour @ McCormick and Schmicks, La Puerta (app menu and all booze 1/2 price 3-7), both of the Donovan's restaurants have free passed appetizers and other discounted items during happy hour. That should get you started.
