92-yr old auntie seeks fresh dungeness crab in Denver

I'm visiting my aunt who moved to Denver from SF a few years ago, and she's asked if I could find anyplace to get cooked crab here -- perhaps at an Asian restaurant?

Looking at some prior posts, I'm wondering if Star Kitchen might be a destination? or Empress Seafood? Or possibly New Saigon?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

  1. By "cooked" crab, do you mean "still hot when you pick it up"? Or do you mean "precooked and frozen"? If the latter, you can get frozen precooked dungeness at many/most markets - Costco almost always has it, for example. It's super-easy to reheat - just put a steamer basket into a pot, get it steaming and toss the crabs in until they're warmed through, or use a pot of boiling water (maybe with some Old Bay in it). Very quick to cook, since they're already cooked through and you're just re-heating.

If you mean still hot... sorry, no idea. Sounds like a good idea to check the seafood dim sum places, they usually have them in tanks on display so perhaps they sell them to-go.

      To clarify
We would like to find a restaurant that serves fresh crab served cooked and warm.
Good quality and price is not an obstacle, at that age...

Hi, I have seen it at New Saigon, and fairly recently. I'd still call and make sure it's available, and good luck!

We just finished a most delicious meal at New Saigon. The crab was sensational. And auntie scooped up every last bit of the crab sauce.

Thanks so very much for the great suggestion. And let me know if i can return the favor when u are in the Bay Area.

yay! thank you so much for the followup. I'm happy auntie was satisfied. I was in SF in January, and ate dungeness all over the town- great fun.
