ISO: A Celebratory Lunch Spot in Downtown San Jose

erinmargaret May 24, 2012 02:07 PM

I'm a bit of a foodie and well, I'm in a pickle. I need to host a celebratory lunch for 10 colleagues in a few weeks and well, I don't know San Jose restaurants. Ideally, I'd like a spot near 280 or in the general vicinity of downtown SJ. Anything near Hamilton Ave. or Meridian Ave. would be great! A non-chain restaurance with good fresh food, maybe even some tables outside is what I'm looking for!

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

La Pastaia is a solid choice. If you're feeling spendy, you might want to check out Arcadia (at the Marriott's Hotel), it's a Michael Mina restaurant. These 2 are in downtown San Jose proper.

You mentioned Hamilton/Meridian exits, that's really Willow Glen and Campbell. I've been meaning to try out Naschmarkt Restaurant in Campbell. I heard it's a great modern Austrian, not something you see a lot around here.

Try the place in the DeAnza Hotel, La Pastaia.

The other places in DT SJ are Gordon Biersch (chain), Grill on the Alley (chain) and Original Joe's.
