Indian Food in Long Island (middle of the island)

Anyone have an Indian restaurant they rave about? I tried the Curry Club in East Setauket per a Zagat recommendation. Blah. Food was tepid, no spice and the service was non-existent.

If you want real heat, head for Hicksville. Start at New Chilli (sic) and Curry on Woodbury Rd. Tell them you want 911 or hotter, Indian hot.

I second both recommendations. The Spicy Coriander soup at NCC on Woodbury Rd is wonderful, spicy AND flavorful.

House of Dosas is amazing, but keep in mind the flavor profile and dishes are South Indian, while Curry Club is North Indian. North Indian has meat and creamy curries, while South Indian has dosas and vegetarian curries. You can get a Thali Lunch Mon-Fri for about 7.95 and try 10 little portions of different dishes. If you want North Indian, there are lots of options in Hicksville. Bukhara Grill is one of them, and I suggest the lunch buffet.

Yes, we really like Bukhara Grill as well, a good alternative to Diwan, where we used to eat.
