I have a certain conflict against shrimp and grits in a restaurant, because it should be cheap and it should never have cheese in it. But that's the grinch in me.
I don't think you could go wrong with any of those suggestions. But try Savannah Red. Yes, its in a hotel but its very good. And you can have Krispy Kreme bread pudding for dessert.

re: billyjack
gotta agree with you on the cheese thing...where did that come from? So far, I have had McCormick and Schmicks (meh) and Savor Cafe's version (pretty good). The grits have to be stone ground. the CO tried E2's version and found them to be pretty sad.
Has anyone tried Mimosa's version?

I agree w/ MizzDee, Dish is pretty great. Also, Lulu's has shrimp & grits for brunch (their pimento cheese grits are yummy too!). Unfortunately, I can't recommend Boudreaux. I used to love this place but, last Sunday brunch, I had their shrimp & grits from Boudreaux last weekend for brunch and I was picking twigs of dried herbs out of my teeth. The veggies were raw and everything tasted like oregano. The beignets were still good, though.
