There are some restos on beaver hall hill. Giovanni Apollo restaurant is on University just up from Ste Catherine and they have a simple bistro menu on their terrace and there is a little oasis of greenery nearby. If you go a few blocks east on ste catherine there are a few nice restos with terraces/patios overlooking festival site and down below in shopping centre (Complexe Desjardins) is a grocery store(IGA) but you probably need to use your car unless you have a stroller. Bouillon Bilk is also in that area.
If you go to restos in neighbourhoods of Park Ex, Outremont you can usually find some free parking on back streets. Lemeac on Laurier in Outremont has a side terrace and is family friendly for brunch, etc.
