Searching for the perfect BBQ/Grilled Steak Marinade
I have a few marinade recipes that I have used (on both chicken and steak), but I want that very classic steak flavor that I have had occasionally over the years (but before I would ask for a recipe). A little salty but wonderful flavor that seems to make the steak heavenly with every bite. Sometimes I have had it at steakhouses but I have no idea how to make it at home.
Any help is greatly appreciated (but no MSG recipes please!)

I'm not being smart, but better steakhouses don't marinate their beef. Is it possible that the flavor you crave is simply a well-cooked steak with nothing added? A well-cooked steak (especially one that has been dry-aged) has a whole host of wonderful flavors.
