Please recommend a restaurant for 90th celebration in El Cerrito to Alameda area. Any recommendations for the courses appreciated.

How many tables? For a similar event, I checked Asian Pearl, East Ocean Emeryville, Peony, Legendary Palace and East Ocean Alameda -- I ended up choosing East Ocean Alameda.

The similar names are confusing! :-) I'm glad it went well. It's a family-run restaurant and it really shows in the attention to detail and the service. We've had several Christmas Day dinners there (Jewish tradition!) and even though they are very busy, someone from the management team always checks in on us. I should note that one other thing that's helpful is that the banquet manager speaks fluent (and unaccented, which can be important when arranging things over the phone) English.

East Ocean in Alameda. Not only is the food good, but the service there is very good and the atmosphere is quieter and less garish than a lot of other places.

Additional note regarding parking:
If their small parking lot behind the restaurant is full, we frequently drop off passengers and then park our car in the lot at West Marine, just a short block east of Webster Street. It's a former Safeway occupying the block bounded by Pacific Avenue, Concordia Street, Buena Vista Avenue, and Constitution Way
