Too bad Caughey's closed (a long time ago), but in the same area across Rt. 17 is Al Di La...mixed reviews but it was good when I was there.

Yes, on a platter in their lobby/foyer. Along with the foul-mouthed myna bird in the cage. I loved that place.

Redds (http://www.reddsrestaurant.com/) 317 Washington Ave in Carlestadt is a block away from the Izod Center. It's a good restaurant and pub, and also has catering and banquet rooms upstairs. Good pub type food.

I always balked at Redd's because they had mandatory valet parking. Not sure if that's still the case, but it's not a place that should have valet parking at all, let alone exclusively. Also nearby is The Grasshopper which was recently featured (for good reason) on Kitchen Nightmares. I don't know if they've gotten better as a result. For Italian, try Gianna's or Bazzarelli. They are a mile or so up the street and you won't get lost going there.

Steve's Steakhouse on Rt. 17S. 5 minute drive. I always get the filet. Ask for extra sauce and rye bread.
