Great news! PB Boulangerie is opening another branch in Downtown Falmouth soon!

Just heard about this today, though I found this article from a couple of weeks ago confirming the rumor.

It'll be on Main St., they're working on the space right now.

Can't wait!

Are there still crazy long lines at the Wellfleet bakery? Heading down to Truro tomorrow for the long weekend and wanted to hit PB on the way.

Not sure how crazy, but there has always been a line each time I've been there, and I would certainly expect to see one on a busy holiday weekend. Hopefully you will do better than I last summer when, after a 20 minute wait in a creeping line, we found almost nothing to buy once we got inside. The head pastry chef, Boris, had quit that morning and there was literally just a few loaves of bread. That's it. But you won't encounter that I am sure. Enjoy. It's worth a wait.

I was there this morning around 7:30 and waited around 20 minutes. Just an observation: They were clearly prepared for the deluge - they were well-stocked on everything and cranking out more, but it led to scrambling for space to put the food, leading to longer wait times because the three people working up front had to stop serving in order to shuffle and restock. Chef Philippe was there helping out and charming customers, as usual.
The baguette and pain au fromage (both still warm from the oven) were well worth the wait. Chances are high I'll be back tomorrow. I'm selfishly hoping that Boris' new place will lead to some shorter lines. Very curious how the breads will compare.

I had a 10 minute wait at about 1p on Friday 5/25. I picked up a baguette that smelled so wonderful it took all my willpower not to devour it on the way to Truro. Went back late Sunday around 4p to pick up another baguette and some of the delicious-looking tartes I had seen on Friday, but the shelves and display cases were completely empty! Chef Philippe (I assume it was he) felt my pain and gave me a twisty baguette-like loaf that he said couldn't be sold because it was broken. That certainly didn't diminish its flavor! I can't wait to return next month!

I know the original location lost their head baker last season. We were there a couple days after he left and they had run out of everything by 2:00 in the afternoon. Can anyone report how things are there now? I wonder how the two locations will compare as clearly the same baker cannot produce pastry for both locations.

According to the article I posted, Boris is going to be running the Falmouth location, and, I believe he was the head baker originally. He sure looks like the guy who was always baking when I was in there!

Sorry, I skipped the article on the first go round. Boris is THE man! Looking forward to a shorter drive for my baked goodies. Thanks for posting!
