ICOB (Island Creek Oyster Bar), I know you've heard it all before

but I have to rave about the special I had there with my daughter last night. It was pan seared scallops served over homemade pasta (tagliatele?) with grilled calamari and a kind of pomodoro sauce. The scallops were perfect, medium sized scituate scallops, the calamari tender and delicious, and the pomodoro sauce had an unusually good spicy kick for a restaurant of this size serving this volume: nice chunks of tomato, all in all really good. The service, as usual was fabulous: no problem splitting and order for the two of us. And, of course, beautifully shucked, delicous oysters. We had ICs, the wellfleet, falmouth and RI oysters ; still love the Creeks the best, though.
If you're in the neighborhood soon, and they still have that special.. don't miss it!

I'll put in a word for brunch today at ICOB too, and I was well pleased. My lobster omelet was very tasty today, preceded by totally pristine and awesome raw bar (Island Creeks, RI Blondies, meaty and sweet littlenecks). BTW if you want to go for Sunday brunch, pick a Sunday when the Sox are away and it's easy to snag a table or a place at the bar.
