2012 Oyster Fest, June 2nd & 3rd

Just found out that I will be town for the Oyster Festival and was hoping to get some input. Is it a good time? The website makes it sound like two great days of food and music. Is there an admission charge? Do you buy food/drink tickets? If so, are they cash or can you use a credit card? Do they have ATM's nearby (I see that it takes place in a park by the river)? Thanks in advance for any input.

Your post led me to the festival's website; I haven't heard word 1 about this event in local media. The website suggests that the event is in Woldenberg park, but it includes a map indicating the festival site as a parking lot adjacent to the Jax Brewery, not in a park next to the river...not my idea of an ideal, early-June festival site (wear your cool clothes). Generally, restaurant vendors at such commercial festivals directly accept cash with limited to no credit/debit acceptance. You will be within easy walking distance of ATM machines and banks, as the festival is on the edge of the french quarter.
