Coming Attractions: Emperor Noodles and Lady Bug Teahouse
For those of you who have run out of new places to try in the San Gabriel Valley, help is on the way. Emperor Noodles is opening in San Gabriel up where Lao Bian Dumplings used to be, while Lady Bug, I believe, is replacing a place that only served tea in the old Crawford's Corner shopping center in Alhambra now anchored by 1 6 8 Market. If you beat me there when they open, please post a report.

Emperor Noodles has not opened yet despite the fact that the signage for their marked parking spaces is up. Should be opening soon. but since they don't speak English inside I don't know exactly when. Also in San Gabriel, the Shabu House space on San Gabriel Blvd. is for lease.

re: JThur01
I went to Fujisan today for lunch. I am not an experienced Ramen expert, but to my untrained palate, it did not seem all that special, compared to my limited other Ramen experiences in SG Valley. I hope someone more experienced will go and provide an expert report.
They have been open a month, and was mostly empty while I was there for lunch. Their operations are not yet all worked out - they give free shaved ice, but they made the offer too late, and the counter person got sidetracked when a Chinese customer came in asking for takeout - which they apparently don't do, but made an exception for her today!

re: suvro
My WSGV noodle standards aren't high, but Ton-chan, when they're on, they're on. And Daikokuya is always there, as is Shin Sen Gumi. They scratch the itch just fine. The WSGV ramen boom is actually just as prolific as Little Osaka. There are now almost 10 joints with ramen (Ducks has curry ramen) , all Japanese owned (except for Ajisen, good LORD that's a bowl of hate.)

thanks for the update, I think it was covered here:
http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/857564Not sure why Yukino-ya made the "Excellent Ramen" on Chow LA list, but Fujin didn't.
