Crispy Fried Beef!

I went to a restaurant on Coronado (s/w of San Diego) a few years back, to what I believe was a Chinese restaurant, that served some of the best "Crispy Fried Beef" I have ever had. It closed a few years ago. Does anyone know or recommend a place in or around MSP that serves
"Crispy Fried Beef"? Thanks.

No kuan, it's more like thin short thin slices of beef, dipped in corn starch (guessing) and deep fried till crisp with a spicy savory sauce.

I wonder if it's similar to Thai Beef Jerky? It's usually served with sticky rice. I've had that at Ruam Mit and True Thai (although at True Thai it came out raw in the middle the last time and had to be sent back.

Thx j, the place in CA seemed to have deep fried it with maybe a corn starch dusting, crispy for sure. I'll give those two a try, thx again.

Hello. I'm not sure if this is what you are referring to but Shuang Cheng in Dinkytown has a dish called Beef with Dried Orange Peel. It's slices of beef that are deep fried with an orange sauce. Don't let the orange sauce scare you. We call it "Beef Candy". It's crispy, crunchy goodness.
