Georgetown Cupcakes - Arriving in the Fall

Recently, I have heard rave reviews from various sources of Georgetown Cupcakes. I just learned that they are coming to Los Angeles (143 South Robertson Boulevard) in the Fall.

Has anyone tried one or three of these? Are they anything that we don't already have here?

As a DC transplant, I will say that they are good, but they were not my favorite in the city. GC is a marketing machine, albeit with the goods to back it up, but you're really not going to get anything you probably haven't had already. But good food is good food, and more of it is never a bad thing.

Thanks, AndrewF, for your word on this. You have expressed the way I feel.

We have many cupcake options here in LA, and unless they are doing something amazing (I know, they all claim that they are "doing something amazing"), then for me it is just another very good cupcake.

The calories find me...I don't have to go looking! I'd rather indulge in something unique.

I had them when I visited DC last year and I thought they were very good. I've never been a fan of the ones sold at the cupcake shops, but this was the exception. I remember there being a line out the door and they were bringing out fresh cupcakes at 9pm. I only recall the salted caramel, which was fantastic.

sorry, i would've commented in detail had i tried them. i've been wanting to and was looking forward to my next visit to dc in a few months to check them out. utterly excited that they're making their way here!! :D
