Private dining Sunday afternoon, post-funeral. Midtown, UES...recs?

Hi everyone,

About 30 of us will be descending on NYC for a funeral, and we are looking for a recommendation for an afternoon spot for the post-funeral meal.

Our normal family event restaurant, Levana (upscale kosher with private dining), is no longer a storefront. Relatives looked at the Penn club (upscale private dining), but they are closed on Sunday afternoon.

Any suggestions? Midtown is good, can do UES/UWS as well. It doesn't need to be Glatt kosher, just a nice american restaurant with a private room that can accommodate 30 or so on pretty short notice.

Any and all help much appreciated, as always. Thanks!

So, are you saying it needs to be kosher just not Glatt?

Sorry, it doesn't need to be kosher at all. This side of the fam isn't as strict. Thanks!

For "American" cuisine, I would suggest checking out the following:

David Burke, on 62nd, b/t Park & Lex.
Park Avenue Spring (Summer, Fall, Winter), on 63rd & Park,.

If you are willing to consider contemporary French cuisine with international elements, I highly recommend Cafe Boulud, on 76th, b/t 5th & Madison. The food is superb, and their private space can accommodate 30+.
