Breakfast in Astoria Near Ditmars
Hi Everybody!
Dr. Nick and I are looking for a breakfast place (not brunch - this will be an early day) in the above area.
We've been to Neptune Diner a number of times and it makes us want to blarg. Sorry, it's true, so please no recs for that (BLARG!! Okay, I feel better now.).
Any ideas? We'll be in that zone at around 8:30-ish in the morning on a Saturday and be driving.
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions!
Ciao,
Glendale is hungry...

Tasty's is diner-ish and allegedly pretty good (I don't have first-hand experience but friends order a lot of takeout form there). I don't know if they're any better than Neptune would be, just smaller and less... full of.... Anyway, they're open around the clock and are on Ditmars a few blocks east of 31st, on the south side of the street. A number of local bagel joints on that strip as well.

Are you looking for a sit-down full breakfast or something light? I recommend Patisserie Pistache, recently opened just north of Ditmars on 35th St. They source their pastries from Cannelle. There are a few stools in there, but could be a nice place to pick up some croissants and walk.

I will let others chime in with suggestions and advice, but in that area you have ...
