Steakhouse redux

So I promised an old friend visiting for the week a good 'scene' steak dinner.

It's been a couple years as i tend to prefer cooking steaks at home these days. My default is Cut or Mastro's with a bias for the former (food and brighter lighting).

Any other recommendations from the local cognoscenti'?

For places that veer towards the scene, can't go wrong with CUT or perhaps some place like Boa.

For a place that's less scene-y, but with great steaks, I like Wolfgang.

I find the scene at CUT sterile and not nearly as vibrant as Dan Tanas or upstairs at Mastro's. Also the fact that its separate from the bar, tends to reduce the buzz as well.

If you don't want to strictly go the steakhouse route then options like Dan Tana's for the Dabney Coleman or Jar may be other ideas worth considering.
