Rehearsal Dinner - Holliston MA

I recently moved to Holliston and am getting married in October. I have started looking for dinner options and was hoping to get some suggestions.

We are looking for a casual dinner/buffet for around 30 people. We really like the dining room at Stone's Public House as well as the Sherborn Inn. Is there anything else around the area that would be similar to these places? We like the slightly older, rustic feel of both. I have read a few reviews about the Coach Grill in Wayland and it seems like a good place.

I'd go with Stone's. The Sherborn Inn has really meh food. Sometimes it's good; sometimes it's abysmal. You don't want to mess around with that. I'd heard good things about the Coach Grill, but DH went for a business meal and said it was primarily a "blue hair" restaurant, if that matters to you.

The Coach Grill is excellent and I wouldn't consider it a "blue hair" restaurant. They have a very busy bar scene and the dining room has a diversified group of people from families to "blue hairs". Also with an older, rustic feel is the Oregon Club in Ashland.

I agree with you about the Oregon Club--that's actually a fun place for a celebration. Good to know about Coach Grill--DH wasn't impressed, but I'm always willing to give it a try.

We are trying to stay close to Holliston so I will definiltely check out the Oregon Club and Truffles. Then Coach is those don't work out. Also, this might be a dumb question, but was is DH?

Take a look at Truffles Grill & Wine Bar, just over the town line in Milford. I've been to a private party there, and it is very nice. Beautiful restaurant with great food. Very close to Holliston. It's better than the Sherborn Inn. I like Stone's, but Truffles is more upscale.

Wayside Inn in Sudbury. I had my rehearsal dinner there, in one of the smaller dining rooms with a fireplace. High end fine dining it is not, but it was cozy and rustic, food was good and there was adequate choice for different tastes.
