Swissmar Borner V-7000 versus V-1001

Read a thread from last year where the V-1001 was recommended over the 7000. Wondering if a year later anyone has any further opinions. I've never owned a mandoline and would go for the highly-rated V-1001 except for the fact that there are only 2 thickness options.
