Chocolate Covered Strawberries - West LA? Today or tonight.

Yesterday during our Mother's Day celebration we had some chocolate covered strawberries from the King's Hawaiian Bakery in Torrance.

Tomorrow is my son's girlfriend's birthday and he would like to buy some similar strawberries, but we will not have time to drive to Torrance.

Any place to buy CCS in Westwood, West LA, Culver City, Palms, Mar Vista area would be great, even supermarkets would be okay, or a chocolate store. We need to buy them today or tongiht.

TIA

I just saw a "CLOSED" notice for this location on the Yelp site. I know they have another store in the Westwood area, but don't know if they have CCS or not? Better check to see if the Culver City location is gone or not before you make the trek.

Paul, you might give Compartes http://www.compartes.com/collections/... up in Brentwood a call too (although their prices are over the top on this stuff). I know they've had them in the past. I also wonder about Bristol Farms?

    2. This might be a time for the Godiva store if you can't locate another supplier for this request. The make them fresh everyday, and might make yours to order if it's convenient for them. Rocky Mountain Chocolate is another place that could help you out.

      1. Bristol Farms on Beverly has them for $3.95 each.

        1. The Venice Whole Foods usually has them.

Go to S.M.Farmers Market and buy some long-stemmed strawberries. Next stop: Trader Joes and buy their great chocolate which is sold at the check stands (everyone knows it is Valrohna). Melt chocolate, dip berries. Enjoy. So easy and so good and not expensive.

            2. Shari's Berries when you don't have time to deliver them yourself. I was surprised when I placed an order on Feb 13th & they managed to deliver to a SFV hospital on Feb 14th. Beautiful berries, pretty packaging.

              1. I bought some beautiful, large ones yesterday at Ralph's (both white and dark chocolate). In case you don't have time to run around.

                  Thanks Swede.

I should let everyone know that my son's romantic gesture was derailed. He crashed on his bike (he's okay, just shaken up) and decided to go to sleep early. This morning, he stopped at the store and bought flowers.

Really appreciate all the recs -- hope that they came in handy for others as well. But we were not able to go out and buy any strawberries.

Hi Paul. I am sorry to hear about your son, but am glad that he is okay. I am sure his girlfriend is appreciative for anything he gave her!

Having been down too many times to count over the years I can completely empathize...
