Brunch at David Burkes Fromagerie

Hello all, I am trying to take my parents out for a nice brunch next weekend. A friend mentioned that Fromagerie in Rumson is supposed to have a good brunch. I was wondering if anyone has been there and could review the food/variety/tell me a litle bit more about the brunch. The website wasn't overly specific. Thanks for your help in advance!

We had brunch this morning at Fromagerie. Absolutely fantastic. Everything was delicious and the service was great. If either of you are looking for a good brunch, I would definitely recommend trying it. Thanks for all you help!

I cannot comment directly on Fromagerie's brunch as I have never tried it. I can comment on the Fromagerie since David Burke taking it over and I can say I have consistantly been less than impressed. Keep in mind I'm a local and Fromagerie was a staple in the area for decades....and well it's obviously just not the same Fromagerie in my opinion.

The Molly Pitcher Inn about 10/15 minutes away has in my opinion the most highly respected brunch in the area....that would be my suggestion....add to that the beautiful waterviews from their dining room and I'm sure you will "WOW" the parents for sure.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will definitely look into it! Do you know the price for brunch...Fromagerie is $32, somewhere in that neighborhood?

Best bet would be to call......I checked the link I posted and don't see a price quoted. It's been a year or two since I've been personally and do not recall.

I just calle them and apparently they dont do brunch every weekend any more. The next brunch isn't until fathers day...no thank you. Thanks for your help though!

Have you considered Pier Village for brunch @ Mcloones Pier House. We heard some pretty harsh things about the place and recently checked it out, the brunch was lovely. Generous for the $, great view of the ocean, lovely boardwalk stroll after. Reservations recommended. Menu link above. Inside or outside seating, based on the weather.

I'm hoping its about McLoones because I believe we are going to Fromagerie! Also, jrvedivici, (if you can remember), will a button-down shirt suffice for brunch at Fromagerie or is it a little bit more formal?

That's one of the things I miss about the "old Fromagerie" was the stuffiness of it. lol It was old school fine dining where men were expected (might have been a requirement) to wear a jacket in the dining room. Not now....you would be fine in a dress shirt now.

Quick Fromagerie fact....it use to be owned by the Peters family who raised two sons who made it to the NFL one playing for the NY Giants, Jason is his name!

Christian actually played for the Giants. He's now an Insurance Broker/financial planner in the Monmouth county area.

McLoones and I did not find those reviews to be our experience at all when we enjoyed Sunday brunch there. My experience with DB Fromagerie was not great and I found the service quick brisk. I hope the OP has a better time.
