Restaurant/Bar with Great Food and a Television within 30 minutes of Clifton, VA

uhockey May 13, 2012 06:37 AM

Playoff schedule for the Semi Finals was released yesterday and, of course, presents some conflicts. Looking for a spot with a TV likely to be tuned to the game, and a menu in the bar/lounge that approximates that in the restaurant itself. I'll call after I have a list to make sure the game can be on, but trying to sort out which do/don't have the capability currently.

Day is a Sunday, time is 3:00pm

I just can't justify watching in a crappy hotel room and I'm not a beer drinker.

Your best bet close to Clifton is the Glory Days Grill in Centreville. They have dozens of TVs tuned into all games and you can order anything at the bar that's on the regular menu.

Someone suggest Virtue Food and Grain. Do they have TVs?

virtue isn't 30 minutes from clifton on a sunday afternoon, in my opinion. unless you're a crow flying.

Further? I guess I don't know the local traffic patterns terribly well.

uhockey, yes….clifton to old town alexandria will definitely be longer than 30 minutes. i'm not sure why your link was posted in regard to this thread. did i not read down far enough?

i had thought bad to the bone smokehouse might be a good option, but they don't serve booze…only beer (good beer) and wine.

I can't remember if Trummer's on Main has TVs in the bar or not, but might be worth a call. Also there is still an American Flatbread in Centreville, I know the Arlington location had TVs. Both have good eats too.

Virtue definitely has TV, on a Sunday I would approximate 45 min to an hour depending on traffic and construction. But would be a good place.

They appear to close at 2:30 and the game starts at 3:00.

We're actually eating dinner at Trummer's on Sunday, hence the proximity question.

Just a bit of feedback - ended up at Virtue Feed and Grain - it is a GREAT spot for a game and aside from terrible parking due to some sort of festival going on in Alexandria (and the Kings losing their sole loss of the seies) it went without a hitch. Got back to Clifton in 33 minutes (was timing simply because of this thread)

Thanks to all for the recs.
