Jacob & Anthony's (S. Springs)

Finally got to Jacob & Anthony's for dinner.

We shared the eggplant stack (main) as an app. Very good and enough for several people.

I had the Mesa Shrimp (Cold Plate) - grilled shrimp, mixed greens, roasted corn, black beans and goat cheese with honey lime dressing. Shrimp was cooked perfectly. Very good. Would definitely get this again.

Fish taco (Classic Sandwich) - Flour tortilla, chipotle mayo, broiled tilapia, napa cabbage slaw, pico. Very good.

Someone else had the Signature 3 course $20 dinner. Salad, I think they had the filet tips and dessert. She said Prep Kitchen in Crossgates Mall is also very good.

SO had the Cuban sandwich and a side of gnocchi.

Service was excellent. I was surprised they also own Bellini's. Jacob & Anthony's is much better.
Will definitely go back.

  1. We've had a number of organization meetings at J & A. They have been most accommodating.

They also operate J & A Prep Kitchen in Crossgates Mall.

Yes, I saw that in Steve's Blog! I never was overly excited by the food there. I'm looking forward to checking out their replacement however, World of Beer!

Btw, stopped at The Thirsty Owl tonight and was pleasantly pleased. Looks like we'll be returning. We had 4 Tapas dishes and 3 were very good.

    2. SO went recently and was underwhelmed. His thought his chicken might be bad. He was hosting a dinner so he didn't mention it to his server. His dining companions seemed to enjoy their meals (I don't know what they ordered).

Also said service was a little TGIF-ish. He said if he hadn't been before, he wouldn't return.

Interesting in light of this per TU:

PS To be fair, I've only been twice and loved their fish tacos and eggplant stack.
