Studio (montage) vs Mar'sel (terranea)

Taking the mom out for her other special day and initially had narrowed it down to the following:

WP24
Restaurant at Getty
Studio at the Montage

She enjoys great views more than she does great food so these were the best options I could think of that wouldn't compromise TOO MUCH on the food aspect. I had briefly contemplated adding Mar'sel but the intial reviews I had read were generally negative. However, today, I've read several blogs/reviews that were positive and am now considering between the place and Studio. Mar'sel seems to have an even more spectacular view (solely based on the pictures).... has anyone been to both places and is able to offer their thoughts (both on food and view)?? So very much appreciated!! :)

Too late for the OP, but for others who look up this post, I concur with Bernphil. Our meals at Terrenea have been nothing but great. Have only been once to Studio and having a hard time coaxing myself to return.

Having eaten at both places, I can see your dilemma. However when it comes to treating Mom, mar'sel is the way to go. Great combination of spectacular Pacific views, fresh and inventive SoCal food and awesome service. The fact that Chef Fiorelli came to our table greatly impressed my wife and totally made my day! A little know fact those guys are big on local and sustainable food sources. A bonus, you will be at the friendly Terranea Resort and you might catch some whales and dolphins too. PS... self park...over Valet. Happy Moms day, to you all
