  1. We like:
Tripoli on Atlantic and Clinton for Middle Eastern
Queen on Court for Italian steps from the theater
Catania on Atlantic is good but I think they are on vacation
Lots of options on Court below Atlantic that look good but we have not tried.

I'm for Queen, My favorite spot for both pre and after movie dinner.

Re: Catania. I walked by on the 10th, the sign said they'd be back that day, but they were still closed. Hope they reopen soon...

      2. Bedouin Tent, 405 Atlantic. Excellent babaganoush and shawerma, etc. I believe the wonderful pita bread is made on premises.

Shake Shack, 409 Fulton Street (does not get as crowded as other locations). Great burgers and frozen custard.

Mile End, 97 Hoyt Street. Deli food 'Montreal style" -- the smoked meat sandwich will make you forget pastrami and corned beef.

        1. Bar Tabac on the corner of Smith St and Dean St is a great French bistro-type restaurant. Outdoor seating, live music every night, and a great steak frites.

Frankies 457 has incredible Italian food - simple dishes executed perfectly. Try any of the crostinis - the ricotta with speck and cremini muschroom and truffle oil options are superb. Frankies is on Court St and 4th Place (457 Court).

          Cheers,

Frankie's is excellent but it is a bit of a hike to the theater.

Perhaps Adrienne thought the OP was going to a movie at Cobble Hill Cinemas, also on Court (not that far from atlantic) and considerable closer to Frankies?

Woops! I was thinking just that - restaurants by the Cobble Hill Cinema. Apologies. Frankies is great though, if you're willing to make the trek.

Closer to Court & Atlantic: Colonie on Atlantic between Henry and Clinton is great - I thought a bit on the pricy side - but delicious nonetheless.

          2. Without a little more information to narrow it down, you have too many options to choose from.

            In addition to everything else:

            Colonie
            Waterfront Ale House
            Brucie
            Van Horn Sandwich Shop
            Watty&Meg
            Lunetta
            Saul
            Sottocasa

And the list will go on. How much do you want to spend? How far is too far to walk? Do you care about atmosphere?
