lost recipe for traditional, yam-based, flourless cookies

I cannot locate this recipe anywhere and am hoping a fellow baker might have it. Here's what I remember: It's a very traditional cookie made with mashed yams or sweet potatoes instead of flour. I'd swear it has a Spanish name: might start with a "c"? I know that's not much to go on. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

      It may very well be (although I can't say I remember the almonds...). Thank you so much. (This must be my week for Catalan-inspired baked goods. I made a Catalan Pinch Cake a few days ago. Lovely texture, and having the guests pinch off fluffy bits of cake made for a very sweet communal experience.)
