When did the original Nick's close?

I haven't been down to that end of PG for years, so I apparently missed the Clinton store closing. Admittedly, the store needed a makeover, but I didn't think it was that bad. Does anybody know the family decided to close it? Was that branch even still owned by the Ferrante family?

Now the nostalgia is making want their sausages. And a sub. A sub would be great about now, since I apparently needed to eat a larger lunch.

Nick's is still owned by the Ferrante family. They've moved their plant to PA.

That's good to know. Apparently the Waldorf branch is still open, so I might head down there soon for a sub and a sausage. I'll drive by the original grocery and see what's happening to the place.
