La Pavoncella tomatoes in Vancouver?

I'm looking for La Pavoncella tomatoes in Vancouver. Google tells me I can get them at Windsor Meats but it's a little out of the way (~1hr by public transit). I live in Burnaby near Brentwood area and I do not have access to a vehicle.

If I can't get La Pavoncella anywhere, what brand of canned tomatoes do you folks recommend? I've seen Italissima (or something) around but I don't know if they're any good.

Edit: ...and all else failing, is there anything else worth doing/seeing/eating in the area where Windsor Meats is (4889 Mackenzie St) to make the trip more worthwhile?

note that the original location of Bosa Foods is still open, two block south of Hastings on Victoria Drive. A more convenient walk from transit than the Kootenay location. In addition the Freybe factory outlet is on the north side of Hastings at Victoria. Freybe is open from Wed. to Sat.

I'm prolly in the minority but I prefer the original Bosa. It just seems more neighbourhoody to me and as noted is much easier to get to. Still haven't made it to the Freybe outlet, smacks forehead.

I'm a regular at the original Bosa and have been for a couple of decades. However, I still go to the new one for many things..eg the Italian porchetta (they only sell the Canadian version)...and the various Spanish hams (they have a very limited selection of cured hams at the old one). The cheese selection is also a lot better at the new one.

Freybe Outlet is one of the best kept non-secrets in the East Side. Go soon!

La Pavoncella is the house brand of Italian Centre in Edmonton Alberta.

My preferred brand is Italissima Organic Tomatoes....if you buy them by the case at Bosa you get a discount, 10% I think. I've never seen canned La Pavoncella tomatoes in Vancouver, but I'll keep my eyes open from now on!

My go-to Italian toms are the Emma brand. Don't buy the fancy San Marzano version just the regular whole italian plum tomatoes.
Always very consistent in size, ripeness and taste with a nice thick sauce. They're sold in numerous places like Santa Barbara on the Drive.

i'm not an expert on tomatoes or Bby -- but would Bosa have this product? --- woops, i just saw someone else suggested Bosa.

sometimes it's worth asking the floor mgr about a product --- many stores these days like direct input like that.

Regarding other things to check out around 4889 Mackenzie: if you walk 15-20 minutes over to Dunbar St., Butter Baked Goods is there (4321 Dunbar). You could pick up some tasty treats. Then, once you're on Dunbar, you could hop a bus down to Broadway and check out Transilvania Trading, the place that stocks Trader Joe's stuff (3474 W. Broadway). I know they're not in the *immediate* vicinity of Windsor Meats but if you're coming all the way from Brentwood, what's another few blocks...

I didn't realize Windsor Meats was supplying meat to the Heights Market so thanks for that. Nothing really impressive foodwise in that immediate area on transit, unfortunately.

I would give Cioffi's (East Hastings in Burnaby Heights) a call. Maybe Bosa Foods on Kootenay St).

I have checked both of those places and neither had it. I went to a couple other places on Hastings up there as well, although I can't remember what they were called.

A lot of wonderful stores in that area, such a vibrant community! Hopefully I'll be making the trek up there often.
