Where to eat with clients and vendors...

Hello all~

My husband will be in Montreal from Friday until Tuesday night. It's a last minute trip, but he needs a place for dinner each night. Price is not an issue, looking for upscale/ fine dining type places. When they travel in the states, they do a lot of steakhouses, modern American type places, but are open to anything really. Not stuffy would be good. A good wine list is important. It will be between 4-6 men each night. Any ideas for us??

Thanks in advance! I'm so jealous I'm not along for the trip!

      "Price is not an issue"
I'd suggest Milos, upscale Greek fish

I smell expense account...Milos it is (as Porker and Max suggested).
Should we assume location is not an issue?

Expense account would be correct...Location shouldn't be an issue, though are there cabs available? I don't think they'll have a car. They're staying at the Fairmont I believe.

          Thanks!

I've never had to wait more than about 60 seconds to find a cab downtown - decent restaurants would also call one for you if there's a concern.

I'd also think Club Chasse et Peche, DNA, Filet would be good bets. DNA is known for its "head to tail" menu, but I didn't find it to offer much in the way of frightening meat products.

Couple of places for business dinner; all are not too stuffy (even toqué).

        - Toqué! (or small sister Brasserie T)
        - Europea
        - 400 coups (more hip).
        - Lemeac
        - Laloux
        - bar& Boeuf.
        - Newtown
        - Milos (greek fish)
        - Ferreira (or small sister F Bar) (portugese)

I'm having problems finding a place for Monday...are most restaurants closed on Monday there? Or is it a really busy night? Any suggestions?

          Thx.

Yes, most places in Montreal are closed on Mondays. Also, I don't know when you're planning the trip, but May 21 is a holiday in Canada so it might also be a bit busy that day.. As might the following Monday for the US memorial weekend.

400 coups for business dinner? I highly doubt it.

That's why I wrote "more hip"...

heck, I don't know, they could be in the "cool and hip" business...
