Kobe beef, once again
Discussion at work. I had read after a search here that it is possible to get Japanese kobe beef in the USA, somebody just sent me this article-

and I was wondering if anybody REALLY knows whether it can be gotten in the US or not.

Well, they are wrong on the bottom of the article about Champagne. The US never signed the treaty restricting the term Champagne to sparking wine from the Champagne region, so many US wineries use that term as well, though generally on lower end products.

They have just begun to export to Macau from earlier this year (200 kg to be exact). Here is the story from the Kobe Newspaper website- http://www.kobe-np.co.jp/news/keizai/... . It says it is the first time they are exporting to a foreign country.
