Dinner near SECCA in W/S?
Looking for a spot for dinner within an easy drive from the Southeastern Center for Contemporary Art. We will be at the museum in the late afternoon and thought an early dinner in W/S would be nicer than rush hour issues and a later meal back in Raleigh!
Prefer something with entrees in the under $20 range. We will have Vietnamese for lunch, so would rather have something different. Pub, bistro, contemporary - we are open to it!. My friend is not a bbq buff though...
Searched the board, but nothing really jumped out.
Appreciate any suggestions you might have!

Yep, Village Tavern is a good choice as it's very close. Even closer to SECCA is Old Staley's--so that's an option as well (google for info). If you're feeling particularly adventurous, you might check out a restaurant on 4th Street downtown. From SECCA, simply take a right onto Reynolda Rd. and follow its twists and turns into the downtown area. Turn left on 4th Street, where you'll find:
Foothills Brewery (great beer, food is not the star but it's good enough)
Hutch & Harris Pub (excellent food!)
Mellow Mushroom (good pizza and an amazing draft beer selection)
Mooney's Mediterranean Cafe
...and several other choices. -
Village Tavern is exactly what you're looking for. It's in Reynolda Village on Reynolda Road, right up the street from the entrance to SECCA. Not mind blowing, but very solid.
