Veal Parmagiana in the West End?

My momma has decreed that she wants veal parm for lunch on Mother's Day. My fancy go-to's ether don't serve it at all or don't serve it at lunch, which is fine since she doesn't want to go somewhere fancy. ;-)

Any reco's in Etobicoke or Missisauga? If there is somewhere that serves it better further east I'm willing to travel.

  1. Ive heard Saucy Kitchen 730 Lakeshore Rd E Mississauga has some of the best in town, but ive never been. There is always California Sandwiches 1603 The Queensway Etobicoke. They are pretty standard for Veal Parmesan Recommendation.

No, not sandwiches. The actualy dish with pasta, etc. LOL!

Ya.... Ive clearly been eating these too much as if I hear the word Veal my mind fills in the blanks. Woops! I would assume both places serve Veal Parmesan sans the bun.

    2. Used to love this place...back in the closed Sunday.

Nothing special really - - maybe they will combine their veal and spaghetti for you?

Equally not special - Rocco's Plum Tomato Trattoria - they seem to have it listed.

Mamma's is closed on Sunday too. Me no likey Rocco's.

      2. There's Posticino on queensway which will have it for sure.- but how about Eden on Marine Parade -- a beautiful restaurant for a lunch. Your mom would like it. (although not that kitchy italian which is fun like mama martinos)

I know they serve veal ... and I know they serve lots of pasta -- just not sure if together so please call if you go there.

Chef Nic Iatomasi's Mondello Ristorante in on Main Street Streetsville excels with traditional Italian fare like Veal Parmagiana. Friends drive from Woodbridge for the experience. It has a nice friendly atmosphere, good service and moderate food prices.

This was going to be it. Not open for lunch on Sundays... Sigh.

Thanks for the suggestions. I checked Posticino, but they're not open on Sundays. :( I'll take a look at Eden. Didn't realize it was Italian.

          3. try La Veranda, Royal York, west side, north of Bloor. They've got exellent Veal.

Ha! Perfect. Been meaning to try that place. Looks really nice from the outside, but I was worried about the food since the menu is so big. We will give it a go.

We went to La Veranda and it wasn't bad. My mom decided on Pasta Alfredo with shrimp instead of the veal parm and enjoyed it immensely. My dad had veal marsala and thought it was meh. I had the pasta carbonara, and although it wasn't prepared in the traditional manner (i.e. they used cream), it was still pretty good. The veal parm was flying out of the kitchen and looked excellent. I'll have to try it next time.

                Thanks for the suggestion.
